Leading British access brand, Palmers Scaffolding UK are providing scaffolding solutions for Balfour Beatty Construction Limited at the Forth Valley College in Falkirk – offering the main contractor modern access solutions during construction of a new campus on the site of the College’s former Middlefield Building.
A team of up to nine Palmers scaffolding operatives began the £270,000+ temporary works in June, which is expected to be completed in December 2018. The scaffold – designed in-house by Palmers’ team of engineers – features 600 lineal metres x four lifts of buttressed Layher Allround modular system scaffolding for all the external façade, as well as 500m x four lifts of internal independent scaffolding structure. There are also internal birdcage scaffolds required for the construction process and installation of new roof lights, with additional designed propping scaffolds on site, to support new picture window frame installations.
Palmers Scaffolding UK Limited Managing Director, Lindsay Harle said: “The Palmers Scotland team are pleased to be working with Balfour Beatty to provide a tailored variety of suitable scaffolding support during the construction of this significant campus for students in Central Scotland.”
